Hi, I'm Samantha!
I am a self-taught artist who enjoys creating in various mediums and styles, always striving to improve skills and explore new techniques. Living with a chronic pain disability, I aim to inspire others facing invisible illnesses. My work encompasses realism, abstract art, and combinations of both.
Since preschool, drawing and painting have been a passion of mine. As I grew older, that passion evolved and led me to explore various artistic mediums. My favourite medium is graphite and charcoal, but I also love working with acrylics, resin, and alcohol inks. Recently, I’ve ventured into digital art, creating logos and digital paintings. Art has always been my favourite way to express myself, and in 2020, I decided to turn that passion into a business—Art As Imagined was born.
Although I am primarily self-taught, I hold a Fine Arts certificate from Durham College. To further develop my skills, I am currently studying graphic design at Centennial College.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an artist is creating custom work for clients. I also enjoy crafting original pieces, each waiting to find its perfect home. My mission as an artist is to raise awareness about invisible disabilities, chronic pain, and mental health. I believe art is a powerful tool for expression, emotional processing, and healing—and that it can spark meaningful conversations about these important topics.
Some exciting projects in the works include an adult colouring book focused on mental health. Alongside the colouring book, I plan to launch a blog covering a variety of topics. I’ll share my personal journey in choosing art as a career, and how my experiences with chronic pain and mental health have shaped my path. The blog will also explore the therapeutic benefits of the colouring book project and its potential to support mental health. You can expect time-lapse videos of my artwork, creative tips, and much more.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my story. I look forward to the opportunity to bring your creative vision to life!
This book is an ongoing project that I have a been working on. It will feature digital drawings I have made that corresponds with affirmations and quotes. There will be approximately 52 pages, so one can do a colouring page at least every week. I plan on having a note page as well, where one can reflect on the quotes/affirmations. The quotes will be from real people, including ones from the mental health exhibition from September 2024/2025. There is not a set release date, as this is a project I work on when I am not doing commissions/other projects. When the book is published, I will be donating part of each sale to a mental health organization. I am researching to find the perfect match for the donations. If you would like to submit a quote for this book, please fill out the quote box form below. Keep and eye on my social media for more updates!
This box is a place to share quotes that have touched your heart — words that have guided you through difficult times, lifted you in happy moments, or simply stayed with you. I’m collecting real quotes from real people to be part of an ongoing mental health project: a colouring book filled with meaningful quotes and affirmations. These will inspire the images I create for others to colour, offering a space for reflection, relaxation, and healing.
